Doesn't seem like a driver issue to me. A fix for this problem on 11.10
involved increasing the size of the "virtual" parametr under "display"
in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. 12.04 has no xorg.conf, but I expect that hte
problem and its resolution will be the same in spirit.
