Built the wifi driver from the Realtek web site at http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=48&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false&Downloads=true
with the description "Linux driver for kernel 2.6.24 (and later, up to 3.2.x)" for device I got "RTL8188CE", and it seems to act better.
