I've just updated the kernel and installed NVidia's proprietary drivers (post-release update) made available through the "additional drivers" app, and it appears that OpenGL is once again working as expected.
I don't know exactly what did it, as I've already tried the post-release update drivers before and that didn't panned out, but I'm glad everything is back to normal.
