Ok, sorry. It was not clear which version was failing (there were more than on 3.2.0-24.XX kernels).
Anyway, you refer you have tried to run 'update-initramfs -u', but I believe this will only update the initramfs for the currently running kernel (i.e., the 3.2.0-23.36).
