Thank you for your response,

I hope you can enjoy the humor of what happened:

It seems that, unknown to me, the Video Download helper web site
suffered a drive crash and I was stuck for who to report the conversion
problem to and the answer to the question as to what kind of problem it
really was - Firefox bug - Down loader bug - or most likely operator
error (loose nut behind the keyboard - me).

Their web site needed me to login which I was not able to do.

To compound the problem was the requirement for me to login in order to
report the inability to login...."loop, loop, loop.......LOL

I then went to "plan B" which was to ask if this could be a bug in
Firefox since everything worked find in the previous version of Firefox,
Ubuntu 11.04 and the Download helper.

I apologize if I wasted anyone's time and hope that everyone will find
this to be just another wacky instance of the "Catch 22 bug".....LOL?

Thank you again,

Arm

Thanks, but the bug tracker is for reporting and tracking software
defects rather than asking questions. For help and support, please try
asking in somewhere like http://ubuntuforums.org/

Title:
Firefox does not convert with Downloadhelper in Linux 11.10

Status in “firefox” package in Ubuntu:
  Invalid

Bug description:
I have just updated my Linux Ubuntu 11.04 system to 11.10 and now
Firefox is acting strangely.  Before I was able to use the Download
Helper conversion routine but now it has stopped working and I am not
able to properly access the Video Downloader web site to ask for help
  from them.

They have a possible solution but I can not find the "Options"  to
effect the fix they recommened to another user who is experiencing the
same problem. (Converting flv to wmv or mp4)

Since I am fairly new to Linux I hope  that there may be something
that I forgot to do when setting up Firefox to use the Download
  Helper.

The people at the Video Downloadhelper have assisted someone else with
  the following information link:

  http://forum.downloadhelper.net/content/help-needed-video-
  downloadhelper-ubuntu-linux-1110-64-bit

At that link they state that the new Firefox/Linux 11.10 needed the
Video Downloadhelper to have the "Options" details to be changed from
"-b 1000kbs"  to  "-b 1000k"  however they failed to detail where and
how this information was to be found and changed.

To make matters even more frustrating, for some reason, I am unable to
sign onto their web site and I am unable to open a new account.

In fact in order to report a problem on their web site it is
nacessary to first sign onto their web site which I am blocked from
doing.  Could this be a problem with Firefox, their web site or with
  Ubuntu 11.10?   I don't know.

  The questions still are:
How do I get to the "Options" they speak of in Firefox to fix this problem?
Can this be reached from the "Desktop" or must it be reached with some
"Command Line" sequence?
Where can the "Options" be found on Firefox or Video Downloadhelper in
Firefox?

I have been unable to contact the Video Download helper people so I
hope you may be able to help since there seems to be something
different with Firefox or possibly Ubuntu 11.10.

(Everything worked fine with Ubuntu 11.04, the older Firefox and the
  older Video Download helper)

  Thank you,
