Alex

Presumably your 'tidying up' was responsible for removing my further
explanation,
in which I advised that the critical need was to be able to implement
non-zero
preceding space (with a jpeg supplied to illustrate the point).
I see that my advice that version 0.3.3.9 of GPartEd is the best version so
far
in this respect, actually working, has also vanished.

But, I do like your title revision !

Subject: [Bug 120609] Re: gparted 0.2.5 doesn't work

Thanks for your effort, but this bug report is massively confusing. I'm
going to tidy it up for you.

** Summary changed:

- gparted 0.2.5 doesn't work
+ GParted 0.2.5 doesn't support moving NTFS file systems

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: gparted
-
- To prepare a hard drive for RELIABLE dual-boot operation you need a
- reliable partitioning programme plus a reliable partition inmaging
- program. The latter isn't available for Ubuntu, whilst the obsolete
- GNOME Partition Editor v0.2.5 package as only just included with Feisty
- Fawn doesn't work properly.
-
- If there's anyone awake and interested or contactable, I can advise
- which version of gparted works and needs making available within 'the
- Community' or advise what specification is needed for an imaging
- product.
-
- I have already solved both problems and am advising non-Geeks on how to
- follow suit. with existing WinXP installations.
+ Support for moving ALL file systems was added in 0.3. Ubuntu should
+ carry a newer version to allow people more flexibility in managing their
+ disk partitioning schemes when installing. This is especially important
+ for fudging around WIndows NTFS partitions.
