I reupgraded to pm-utils 1.4.1-9. I tried another thing, adding a file "/etc/pm/config.d/unload_module" with the content: SUSPEND_MODULES="nouveau"
since my laptop has a hybrid onboard-Intel/discrete-nVidia graphics card and I had problems before. I'm using the intel i915 driver and I had the vga-switcheroo in use, turning on/off the discrete card on every sleep/resume (to save battery). I think that was causing some problems. I uninstalled vga-switcheroo and with the file unload_module mentioned above, the system wakes up, plasma-desktop crashes but it automatically restarts again and I can use the system at least. The thing is that I cannot turn OFF the discrete card to save battery but at least I can put it to sleep now... I don't know what's going on with plasma-desktop crashing on resume... I think pm-utils might not be the problem here, but it's just a hunch. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/930707 Title: System doesn't resume on suspend.
