Hi Sebastien, yes sound is working for those users. Just it is muted for them at login and they must change it every time. The session will not remember their previous sound settings.
I notice that 12.04 boots to the login menu with the sound muted. It looks like this state may be propogated into the session of users who don't require a password, but I'm guessing.
