  Upon notification of a new email, I click the messaging icon, followed
- by the the Google Mail "Inbox [#] pull-down menu item.  This causes my

  "https://mail.google.com/mail/#";.  At the same time, a new zombie
  process shows up in 'top' and 'System Monitor':  xdg-open

  This zombie process will persist until restarting or manually killing
  it.  Meanwhile, gm-notify continues to function.  I'm guessing this is a
  minor bug, with no apparent detriments to performance or function, but I
  thought I should send in a report in case it is a sign of a more serious
