i have to bow to your knowledge. don't really have anything to add appart this - what if Xorg has some troubles terminating and this returns a value to lightdm causing lightdm to create a file? Or Xorg wants to create a file through it's parent process - lightdm? (is that even possible?) i don't think i'm gonna be useful here on. too quick for me to go this far
