This problem still persists. It's extremely annoying. When ubuntu boots
up, all I can see is a very dimly lit screen. I can't see anything
really. It's ridiculous. Every release which comes out I hope this
problem will be fixed and it still persists. Why wont you guys take this
bug seriously? I'm running ubuntu 12.04 AMD 64 desktop on an emachines
e527. Other distros suffer from the same backlight issue also. The
workarounds where you can use a script to set the brightness do work but
they create problems with coming back from a suspended state. Please fix
this problem.
