Additional comments from the affected customer: Thank you for the prompt response. I'm willing to give the developers a few weeks to fix the package, otherwise I will ask you to apply for a refund. Also I forgot to mention a few other details: The Ubuntu version I am currently running is Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32bit The main error message was: Failed to download the license key The license key which allows you to use this piece of software could not be downloaded. Please check your network connection.
The details to the message were: Transaction failed: None Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/software-center/ubuntu-license-key-helper", line 49, in <module> auth = piston_mini_client.auth.OAuthAuthorizer(token["token"], TypeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute '__getitem__' I have tried every possible kind of troubleshooting including reinstalling packages as you suggested. I have also purged and reinstalled the Ubuntu software center and I have also tried using apt-get instead. All without any kind of success. I have also opened the python scrip where the error details refer to... It is an Ubuntu Software Center script used to manage licence keys. I have compared it against other friends running the same Ubuntu version as me and the script file doesn't seem to be corrupt or be the cause of the problem. It seems like the package cannot initialise the key verification correctly. I think it is a fault within the Transmission DJs package itself. Please relate any additional info that I have provided to the developers as well if it will help resolve this issue quickly.
