Same problem (doesn't resume from suspend). Configuration: -12.04 LTS x64 -Asus X53S
All my colleagues also have the same issue (they run laptops such as Samsung and Acer). Please raise the severity on this bug. Suspend is such a basic and useful feature of an OS. It's terrible having to reboot your laptop because you closed the lid. And that's happening with the flagship version of Ubuntu: so bad.
