If you use apt-get to attempt the installation of gmsh, you receive the
following error:
gmsh: Depends: libmed1 (>= 2.3.6) but it is not going to be installed
If you attempt to install libmed1 you receive the following:
libmed1 : Depends : libhdf5-openmpi-1.8.4 but it is not going to be
installed
If you attempt to install libhdf5-openmpi-1.8.4, you receive the
following:
libhdf5-openmpi-1.8.4 : Conflicts libhdf5-1.8
Conflicts libhdf5-1.8.4
This problem has been around since December of 2011.
