Actually, bug 987304 is a performance regression that was only
introduced in Unity 5.10. And it will be fixed in 5.14.
Let's keep this as a duplicate of bug 987304 for now. If it is not
resolved in Unity 5.14 (or 5.12-0ubuntu2) then it is not a duplicate of
bug 987304. If this issue is still not solved, then please look at bug
1005074 which might be the same issue as this.
