It does help, when you first boot as live CD and then remove
ubiquity-slideshow-(xubuntu) packadge. you can do it from live session bu
opening terminal and typing there: sudo apt-get remove
ubiquity-slideshow-xubuntu. Instead of "xubuntu" use your distro name.
I did this on Lubuntu 12.04 and then started the installation from
desktop icon and this time it went smoothly.
** Also affects: ubiquity-slideshow-ubuntu (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
