Okay, I feel really stupid now. Yes, installing the extra package did solve all
theze "bugs". Thanks for your help, and sorry for wasting everyone's time. In
my defense, this change wasn't really advertised in xorg-edgers or anywhere
else that I could see, but it should have occured to me.
