It would be nice to have virtual packages e.g. packagekit-session-interface and packagekit-system-interface to avoid or dependecies and conflicts at all.
The packagekit-system-interface would be provided by packagekit and python-aptdaemon.pkcompat. Apper, gnome-packagekit and sessioninstaller would provide packagekit-session-interface. This would also make it easier to install e.g. brasero in a kde environment. Unfortunately dbus activation seems to require a .service file named after the interface provided by it. So there is a file conflict between python-aptdaemon.pkcompat and packagekit. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1007249 Title: Trying to install packagekit on quantal uninstalls ubuntu-desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/packagekit/+bug/1007249/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
