Thanks to everybody who is helping out :-)
Did the machine break while going to sleep or waking up?--- it sometimes does
not happen. If i hibernate (using sudo pm-hibernate, seems to work with s2disk
for some reason) it will flash that up about 80% of the time when attempting to
hibernate. If it hibernates successfully then it shows up a flashing cursor ,
ctrl+alt+f1 dont work(doesnt display cli . I have to hardreboot to get it to
work.

Did it work before?
Has this sleep type (suspend or hibernate) ever worked in the past. If it has
which kernel release did it work on? ---hibernate works well using s2disk
command, standby still does not work (i meantioned the bug report previously).I
have tried the upstream, that didnt fix the problem.

Do you end up with flashing Caps Lock light or similar==NO

cat /proc/cmdline
BOOT_IMAGE=/boot/vmlinuz-3.2.0-24-generic-pae
root=UUID=0698922a-d9f8-4d54-860b-161fb8248170 ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7

I will provide all the other info once I get some free time. Note, have
not tested upstream yet will try to do so tomorrow.
