@Sebastien Bacher (seb128) Are you saying all or part of compiz has been deprecated?
The only mention of compiz, cube or 3D in release notes for 11.04, 11.10 and 12.04 is in the release notes for 11.10 with this line under "New Features/LENSES AND INTERFACE CHANGES" "11.10 includes a new release of compiz and Unity. …" where compiz is a link to http://www.compiz.org/. The page at http://www.compiz.org/ states: "Okay, this description isn’t really meaningful. In a nutshell, Compiz is a compositing manager, which means that it enhances the overall user interaction by adding fancy effects to your windows, from drop shadows to awesome desktop effects like the Desktop Cube or the Expo view." where Desktop Cube is a link to http://wiki.compiz.org/Plugins/Cube and states: "The Desktop Cube plugin is one of three choices for using multiple workspaces, along with Desktop Wall and Desktop Plane. Using the cube, four viewports (by default) form the side faces of the cube; the top and bottom are reserved for caps. It is part of Compiz, although several plugins in Compiz Fusion extend the functionality of the cube." Also I clearly remember a picture of the cube with 3D windows promoting Oneiric Ocelot, I believe on Ubuntu Software Center. Attached is a screenshot of Ubuntu Software Center in 12.04 for Compiz Settings Manager showing an view of CCSM with cube and rotate cube selected. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1010561 Title: Unity changes CCSM settings when logging out and then into Gnome Classic To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/1010561/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
