Public bug reported:

Since updating to 3.4, the distance from which I can get a working wireless
connection to my router has gotten smaller. With 3.2 (right now using
3.2.0-24-generic) I can get a stable ~12Mb/s connection even with a low network
quality:
Quality=31/70  Signal level=-79 dBm
Using 3.4, I can rarely connect to the router at all from this location and
when the connection is there barely any data is transferred.

I filed bug 1010710 from a working kernel as comparison.
