I did specify that NO WIFI was available. Each of the problems are a show stopper for me - that is why I have been so frustrated with the new release so that instead of getting a new run of the mill cheaper laptop I went for the more expensive Sys76 which is geared for Linux (it is on its way from CA to NY).
Prior to the upstream with rc6 I tried to install one of the Quantal kernels but it would not install. I have not tested Quantal yet but will do so today or tomorrow and let you know. I have done three fresh installs of Precise and two of Mint (never used Mint before and still prefer xUbuntu). Note that on the Lenovo-Y530 initially, before Nappy, I had to download a driver from Intel for wifi to work. I have not retried this but did try copying some libs hoping that would work. After trying that and failing I did a re-install at least once. If I am the only one complaining about this problem then let sleeping dogs lie. However it is strange that after two years of solid performance all these problems suddenly recur - yes, I had problems with sound, suspend/hibernation before, several times. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993901 Title: 8086:4237 wifi not working in Precise gUbuntu & xUbuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993901/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
