It's year 2012 and this bug is still here. At least sound came back, but it seems one of the latest updates destroyed any compatibility.
i get same message and as others before with .24 ALSA i received the messages, but sound was there. only analog stereo though never digital and HD. Now the sound is gone. Chipset is recognised by lspci: VIA Technologies, Inc.
