It turned out that the problem was the following: Before Ubuntu version upgrade starts, a btrfs snapshot is created. The user is, however, not notified. Free space is counted incorrectly, which means that even when there's no space on the filesystem, the user is informed about a lot of free space. Deletion of the oldest automatically created snapshot solved the problem.
Not sure what to do with this bug (probably close), but the problem lies in: * user not informed about snapshot creation * btrfs not showing free spaces correctly -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1002018 Title: package linux-image-3.2.0-24-generic (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: ErrorMessage: unable to install new version of `/lib/modules/3.2.0-24-generic/kernel/drivers/input/touchscreen/ad7877.ko': No space left on device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/btrfs/+bug/1002018/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
