@joshua-willowisp can you see what's going on the access point? I've got my home router syslogging to a server which makes watching authentication failures a bit easier.
Other than that you might want to install wireshark and packet sniff your wireless interface. I feel pretty safe in saying if you're affected by this bug during the 802.1x exchange you should see a "bad certificate" error. Could you connect to the access point before 12.04? Can other people connect to the AP?
