you can add the following command at the end  your .bashrc file in your
home directory.

setxkbmap -option grp:alt_shift_toggle us,gr

where you can change us,gr with any languages you want. You can shift
lanugages with alt-shift.

There is no need to run the command with root privileges (sudo).
