Public bug reported:

After upgrading to 12.04 ffmpeg ceased to run:

alex@alexd1:~$ ffmpeg
ffmpeg: error while loading shared libraries: libx264.so.106: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
alex@alexd1:~$ uname -a
Linux alexd1 3.2.0-24-generic-pae #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 18:54:21 UTC 2012
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

When I first encountered with the bug I purged ffmpeg and removed
accompanying libraries (sudo apt-get purge ffmpeg; sudo apt-get
autoremove), updated repositories (sudo apt-get update) and installed
ffmpeg again (sudo apt-get install ffmpeg), but the bug still
reproduces.
