Public bug reported:

My computer (MacPro) started locking up after I installed the latest
Ubuntu, I thought it was my video drivers, but upon further
investigation I am now certain it has to do with sphinxsearch, as it
seems to occur about a minute after starting the searchd daemon. The log
output doesn't seem useful but I will include it anyway:

I am using ThinkingSphinx and to reproduce I run

rake ts:index
rake ts:start

and within a minute or so, my mouse will become jerky and then stop
moving entirely, and the entire computer becomes unresponsive. Perhaps a
memory leak?
