Just chiming in to say that on both 11.10 and 12.04 my HP LaserJet 3500
is printing out the same thing, regardless of the printout mode:
PCL XL error
Subsystem :KERNEL
Error: IllegalTag
Operator: 0x45
Position: 7
Will try one of the suggestions here later today.
