Public bug reported: Often when I trying to logout from Xubuntu/XFCE (12.04) (using the GUI logout dialog) just nothing happens at first. If I then try to log out once more, I get an error message saying
"Failed to log out. Session manager must be in idle state when requesting a shutdown." After waiting some 10 seconds or so, I will eventually be logged out. Since XFWM is not started on the next boot/login, I first thought the bug might me somewhere in XFWM, but actually it happens _as well_ when using KWin as window manager. Funnily enough, however, KWin is restarted on restart/re-login. This bug is somehow described in #978333 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfwm4/+bug/978333) as well, but there the authors focus on XFWM not restarting. In contrast, I'm more concerned with the logout being delayed quite some time. Note: This behavior was already present in the previous release (11.10). ** Affects: xfce4-session (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - Often when I trying to logout from Xubuntu/XFCE (using the GUI logout - dialog) just nothing happens at first.
