Problem still occurs in Ubuntu 12.10.
eg.Caps lock on/ light lit, uppercase characters being generated.
Switch keyboard to another PC and back.
Caps lock light no longer lit, still generating uppercase characters.
Press Caps lock and the light is now lit but generating lowercase
characters.
It makes it very difficult entering passwords when you cannot be
sure what case you are entering.
