Just started the download and it will take a couple of hours. My ISP was kind enough to give me two months free after some problems so I don't mind the bandwidth as it won't cost me anything.
The date on my quantal-desktop-i386.ISO is June 13, 2012 compared to the ISO of the same name with today's date (June 15, 2012) available from the daily-live page. I'll set up the virtual machine and try the install again the same way to see if the problem repeats and get back to you later tonight. Been trying to use ubuntu-bug but the problems I'm encountering haven't come with error numbers. Another problem condition I'll check involved individual restoration of individually deleted files from an SD card from within the same installation. Upon entering trash to restore the files the second of two showed an error that it couldn't write to the card, but the file was found on the card. I tried this twice and the same thing happened. I looked for an application that might be responsible, but didn't have the chops for it until I shut down and 'Files' reported a pending operation in a dialog box. I shut down anyway and under windows the SD card then showed a new tree for .Trash-1000 containing images for both files in >files and info files under the director >info. Neither of the files were in the the root directory on the SD card as was shown under Quantal desktop after the first file was shown to be restored. The SD card is available via the expansion pack for Virtual Box as a USB device. I haven't had a problem with either the mouse or the Novatel Wireless Broadband Modem I use to connect. So, I'll check to see if this will happen with the same SD card and files and another SD card with files. I think it's a FAT32 as I've got syslinux on it formatted with the Pendrive Linux utility. The files are .IPK for PdaXrom. I'll try a WinXP format and two text files. I'll report if this latter problem is replicable using today's Alpha build. -- tim On Fri, Jun 15, 2012 at 2:23 PM, Fabio Marconi <[email protected]>wrote: > Alpha was released a week ago. > Can you test if this still reproducible with the latest build > http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ > --- -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1013348 Title: 12.10 Updater abends upon first update after install w/o connection To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1013348/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
