Public bug reported:

Software-center is not working. It opens but then nothing happens when I click 
to start a download. Also the package manager does not work (it does not load), 
whereas to make synaptic work I have to launch it from the shell.
launching software center from the shell I obtain the following message, hope 
this helps to solve:
