V5 boots correctly and installs correctly as well (do you know if I can use any command to determine if I'm running v4 or v5? uname stops info at main release numbers).
So, a small resumee of the situation: V1, V2, V3 and the officially released version of kernel 3.2.0-25 do not boot, hang the system (probably a kernel panic is generated, but is not normally visible) and the caps lock key starts flashing endlessly. System affected: standard Acer Travelmate 803LMi (EU version) with the addition of a Belkin N Wireless usb donkey. Versions V4 and V5 boot correctly. V4 has shown a strange problem, affecting loading of grub at the time of reboot. I had to manually load kernel 3.2.0-24 to be able to run again "sudo update-grub" in order to correctly configure bootloader. I presume it might be a problem with initram.fs procedure or postinst?
