I was unable to reproduce this with:
$ sudo apt-get update
$ rv=0.97.3+dfsg-2.1ubuntu1;
$ sudo apt-get install clamav-{milter,base,freshclam,daemon}=$rv --assume-yes
$ sudo apt-get install clamav-milter
The reporter shows upgrade from '0.97.5+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1' to
'0.97.5+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.2'.
The dpkg terminal log shows:
Setting up clamav-freshclam (0.97.5+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.2) ...
Setting up clamav-daemon (0.97.5+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.2) ...
Setting up clamav-milter (0.97.5+dfsg-1ubuntu0.12.04.1) ...
Note, the clamav-milter is of 12.04.1.
Perhaps this is a result of an update being done when archive was in a
strange state? (ie, why would the upgrade have pulled in 12.04.1 and for
clamav-milter).
I was not able to reproduce. William, is there any information about
your system you think might be useful?
It appears the DpkgTerminalLog.gz is somehow missing some data.
I have in my test output:
