I was not able to test with the latest upstream kernel. I followed the instructions and installed kernel release 3.5 as requested, but the system did not start, complaining about the impossibility to locate the root filesystem.
I don't know if it helps, but I was able to install and start the system using this release: http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel- ppa/mainline/v2.6.38.8-natty/ Unfortunately, with 2.6.38 the problem also occurred. I noticed that the problem appear to happen when writing to the filesystem. I'd like to state that I'm kind of a newbie in updating kernel and such low level maintenance... :) Thanks! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1015918 Title: ext4 filesystem freezes with dmesg kernel BUG message To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1015918/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
