Good news! Upstream has written a solution today and wishes for some testing. I've packaged it up in a debian package. Please do the following: 1) Download and install the alsa-hda-dkms package just posted 2) Reboot 3) start Alsamixer (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/Alsamixer ), make sure "Inverted Internal Mic" is muted 4) now try recording normally from Internal mic.
