Error number 10 is ECHILD, which means the shell script forked and then
waited, and the process never returned. Perhaps the child that was
spawned had some transient error.
I doubt this is reproducible. Ian, did you try 'sudo apt-get -f install'
after this? I'd bet the configuration of php5 succeeds.
