By deleting the xorg.conf, I ended up with a fresh and clean xorg.conf
(after the next restart). Afterwards, I configured my twinview settings
with nvidia-settings.

In the meantime, I narrowed down the problem to the metamodes specified
in the xorg.conf:

With the following option line (from a backup of the non-working xorg.conf),
the problem occurs for me:
Option "metamodes" "DFP-0: nvidia-auto-select +1920+396, DFP-1:
nvidia-auto-select +0+0; DFP-0: 1600x900_40 +1920+0, DFP-1: nvidia-auto-select
+0+0; DFP-0: 1600x900_60 +1920+0, DFP-1: nvidia-auto-select +0+0; DFP-0:
1600x900 +1920+0, DFP-1: nvidia-auto-select +0+0"

But with this line everything is fine for me:
Option "metamodes" "DFP-0: nvidia-auto-select +1920+396, DFP-1:
nvidia-auto-select +0+0"

Maybe the problem is related to the way of selecting the resolution, or the
specification of multiple metamodes?
I did not look further into this..

Hope this helps..
