Eric Ding, well to move forward, we would want to remain focused on you and the
hardware you reported this on, instead of referring to potentially extraneous
comments from other reports.
Despite this, what one may do first to narrow this down is test for which
Ubuntu release kernel the regression occurred in. So, if you know Maverick is
the last time it worked for you, using as a guide
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds , then you can test the latest
Natty kernel via
https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ppa/+build/3508782 . If
that works, test the latest Oneiric kernel via
https://launchpad.net/~canonical-kernel-team/+archive/ppa/+build/3524025 . Once
you know which release this regressed from, you can use
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux to futher parse the update that
introduced the problem. Then one may more targetedly bisect the commits as
noted in
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1017072/comments/4 .
