(Don't want to steal leoquant's karma, so on review, please see he was first to
comment, but I added a needs info status)
It will be helpful if you can specify as much as you can about versions,
download times, etc. I was able to do an install from an iso/cd recently to
Feisty that worked very well, so we know that some of these have worked. If
you can help us with more information, that may get us closer to the problem.
It will be good to know the following, please, when you have time:
1. Some specifics about your platform, especially anything directly related to
the slowness. What is your processor, your memory, have you had problems in
the past with speed. Perhaps someone will be able to recommend a specific and
not-to difficult or expensive upgrade that will solve the problem, or even a
setting change.
2. Please state the day you downloaded the CD, as close as possible. Also, if
you think it's definitely the CD. Can you tell us if other versions of the de
ubuntu iso also manifest the problem?
