Hi Robert, to access your terminal window ust click in the upper left "dash" icon in the Unity launcher on the left side of the screen. In the view that is displayed, type "terminal" in the search bar, then click on the "terminal" icon that appears below. This will launch the window, and you can simply type the above to launch software center.
