This sounds like a bug that's fixed in 1.3.7-0.2 among other hang
problems. I uploaded it to Debian recently and it has now found its way
to Ubuntu 12.10 dev version (installable as a .deb package to 12.04 as
well, but should be probably properly backported for everyone to enjoy).
