Just thought I'd chip in. I have a samsung R780 laptop with a Broadcom Corporation BCM4313 802.11b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4727] (rev 01)
Tried all sorts to get it working, removing bcmwl-kernel-source and installling b43-fwcutter and firmware-b43-lpphy-installer packages but still could not connect to my secured wireless network (just kept asking for the password). Then I read the dupe bug of this one https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/broadcom-sta/+bug/990222 and comment 21 from emptythevoid held the answer. I enabled thre 3rd party repositories in synaptic and then i was able to install the restricted broadcom driver (previously it had just given me the jockey.log message, not very helpful). Hope this might help some others. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/987364 Title: Broadcom wireless not working on 12.04 Precise To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/network-manager/+bug/987364/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
