Public bug reported:

I have tried many commands in an attempt to get it to run as a startup 
application, but it will only work if I login and logoff-if I reboot and login, 
it will launch headless (aka in the background). If I reboot, login to a 
different account, then mine, it will launch. I think it's a Ubuntu bug 
considering it won't work when I login after rebooting, but if I login to 
another account first then mine, it works without a hitch. You learn more here:
