The "subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit
status 255" does not reveal the cause of the problem, just that there
was one. Please include the text just before this error message. It is
fair to speculate that you have been bitten by bug #873551 because a lot
of people are getting that, but there are multiple other possible
causes.
If you still have the error message in /var/lib/dpkg/term.log, please
attach the entire file here.

pending on further input from you. Once you have supplied the requested
additional information, it can be set back to Confirmed (or, quite
