Steve: yes, though the backported fix is a workaround, 3.5-rc1 has it
implemented in another way. Besides, you don't have ivybridge, so it's
something else then. Please file a new bug (ubuntu-bug xorg). You can
also try disabling rc6 by adding 'i915.i915_enable_rc6=0' kernel boot
option, 'pureblood' reported that helped it for him. But follow up on a
new bug please, feel free to assign it to me.

Leslie: I'm confused, so you still get a lockup with my kernel (-90)?
