Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub

To get Feisty to run on my ASUS AMD Motherboard I need to use add acpi=off into
the boot line.
This is fine, however when I choose to upgrade my kernel, while a new line gets
added to menu.lst,
the acpi=off text does not get added, and so the system hangs.
I can fix this up, however I help a few people run Ubuntu on home PCs and they
would not know how to fix
(i.e. boot into old kernel or recovery and hand edit menu.lst).
I would have thought upgrade-grub should search for acpi=off string (and maybe
others) and add to new kernel entry in menu.lst?
Or at least make old kernel default and asking user to check menu.lst
I don't think clicking upgrade and then not being to boot is very newbie user
friendly.
Thanks
Stuart
