Suspect may be the HPLIP Toolbox?
Toolbox fails to 'see' HP Deskjet 895c on /dev/lp0, including when using 'find
manually' option, when setting up local printer
$ lpstat -v confirms that the device is present i.e. $ device for DeskJet895C:
parallel:/dev/lp0
Printer is 'visible' and installable via the cups web interface or via the
kprint manager on both gutsy and feisty
cups sys log does not shown any error relating to this problem
HP LIP toolbox finds same printer and setup in feisty without problem
