I've come across a similar problem, when trying to install librep-doc
after installing vice.
Unpacking librep-doc (from .../librep-doc_0.17+svn20070119-2ubuntu1_all.deb) ...
dpkg: error processing
/var/cache/apt/archives/librep-doc_0.17+svn20070119-2ubuntu1_all.deb (--unpack):
trying to overwrite `/usr/share/info/dir.gz', which is also in package vice
Errors were encountered while processing:
/var/cache/apt/archives/librep-doc_0.17+svn20070119-2ubuntu1_all.deb
